Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt-starrer “Kapoor and Sons” is inching towards Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office with its gross income. The family drama, produced by Karan Johar, has minted Rs 76.90 crore gross income, until now.
Domestic box office
Shakun Batra’s directorial family drama, which is going strong at the box office due to positive reviews, has raked in Rs 40.28 crore net income, while the gross collection sums up to Rs 57.54 crore. The film has maintained a strong hold at collection centres in India and has witnessed minimal drop in its collection on weekdays.

The box office collection of “Kapoor and Sons” will show growth due to Holi and Good Friday holidays. “Kapoor and Sons” will have a good first week with a box office income of more than Rs 45 crore. With its first week box office collection, the Fawad, Sidharth, and Alia-starrer will also take the third spot in the highest grossing films list of 2016.
Overseas box office
“Kapoor and Sons” had an excellent opening weekend at the overseas box office shattering the records of Akshay Kumar’s “Airlift.” The film minted $2.9 million (Rs 19.27 crore) in its opening weekend, which is the highest of this year, until now.

Considering the opening weekend total, the film is expected to have a good first week run at the overseas box office as well. It remains to be seen whether the film will enter Rs 100 crore club at the worldwide box office by its first week, but it will certainly achieve the mark before its second weekend.
