The Hindi version of Hollywood movie “The Jungle Book” (TJB), directed by Jon Favreau and starring Neel Sethi as Mowgli, has received positive reviews from the Indian audience.
“The Jungle Book” is a fantasy adventure film, which is based on Rudyard Kipling’s eponymous novel. It is a live-action/CGI reimaging of Walt Disney’s 1967 animated film of the same name. The movie revolves around the story of Mowgli (Neel Sethi), who is spotted in the jungle by Bagheera and raised by wolves.
Black panther Bagheera finds baby Mowgli (Neel Sethi) in the forest and raises him with the help of Indian wolves Raksha and Akela. Mowgli decides to leave the jungle, when Bengal tiger Sher Khan threatens his life. He sets out on a journey of self-discovery and Bagheera and the bear Baloo come forward to guide him. How Mowgli encounters jungle creatures forms the crux of the story
Indian audience are well aware of the story of “The Jungle Book” as many of them have watched the TV serial based on the book. The viewers say it is not easy to recreate the story of a film, which is already known to everyone. But Favreau took up the challenge and succeeded in it. He has managed to introduce something new to the old story, which is the beauty of the movie.
Bollywood stars Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Nana Patekar and Om Puri have given voiceovers for various characters like Baloo, Kaa, Shere Khan and Bagheera respectively in the Hindi version of “The Jungle Book.” Their voices are among the biggest assets of the movie, say many film goers.
The makers have used CGI effects to the maximum in “The Jungle Book,” but have made sure that the movie looks real. The film is a visual treat and has all the elements such as laughters, tears, emotions and fights to impress the Indian movie buffs. We bring to you some viewers’ verdict shared on Twitter. Law of jungle keeps motivating Mowgli to stay strong among other animals #TheJungleBook It’s quite amazing to see wild animals react to a human child in their own territory #TheJungleBook Nana Patekar’s Sher Khan will win your hearts with dialogue delivery #TheJungleBook We have to admit! No only Mowgli, but Priyanka Chopra’s voice has successfully charmed even the audiences #TheJungleBook Lol! A punjabi twist in the tale. Seems like #TheJungleBook has got something for everyone Most impressive thing in the first half: Without-a-doubt Baloo (Irrfan) #TheJungleBook What to expect from #TheJungleBook: laughs, tears, emotions, fights. First half of #TheJungleBook is a visual treat. And #NeelSethi is totally convincing as our ‘chaddi’ wala #Mowgli Helmed by Jon Favreau, #TheJungleBook is incredibly intense, also works a lot like a thriller. A visual treat to all fans, #TheJungleBook is evocative and impactful.

It’s interval. The first half is beautiful in putting forth #Mowgli as an innocent man cub. Expecting second half to be more intense. It isn’t easy to recreate a film which has been loved massively. But Favreau took up the challenge, and has done a good job #TheJungleBook There are several ways in which #JonFavreau has managed to introduce something new to the old story. #TheJungleBook Since everything we watch looks real, we almost forget that the visuals created are CGI images. #TheJungleBook A visual treat to all fans, #TheJungleBook is evocative and impactful. After watching Neel Sethi’s courage and confidence, we can’t think of any other actor who could have played Mowgli #TheJungleBook While Kingsley is apt choice for soft-spoken Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o is impressive as #Mowgli’s adoptive mother. #TheJungleBook #TheJungleBook is a CGI feat, which also puts forth the amazing talents – both directorial and vocal. Even though it is different from its predecessor, it is a successful remake #TheJungleBook
Everything about this film is just perfect! Visually gorgeous adventure and excellent storytelling! #TheJungleBook
