“The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 is all set to return after a two-week-long break. CBS last aired Episode 13, “The Empathy Optimization,” on 14 January, 2016, and will now air Episode 14,
“The Meemaw Materialization,” on 4 February, 2016.
In Episode 13, “The Empathy Optimization,” we saw that while Amy is away, Sheldon manages to recover from the flu. But his friends, who tried to help him during his illness, were offended by his rude behaviour. The whole gang planned to go to Las Vegas to get away from him and Amy also stayed away to teach Sheldon a lesson on empathy. Eventually, Sheldon realises his mistake and apologises to his friends, who allow him to accompany them to Las Vegas.
The episode also showed Raj and Emily fighting after Sheldon’s apology to her goes wrong. At the end of the episode, Sheldon is seen trying to make amends with Emily and resolve issues between her and Raj.
In Episode 14, Sheldon’s gang and girlfriend Amy will finally get to meet the never-seen-before (only heard about) grandmother Meemaw. Meemaw is Sheldon’s maternal grandmother, whose name has been mentioned several times throughout the series. We also know that she is one of the most important women in his life. Clearly, Sheldon is excited to have her over, but the synopsis of “The Meemaw Materialization” teased that things would get ugly between Amy and Meemaw. Now you may think that Sheldon might actually choose beloved Meemaw over girlfriend Amy, but instead, he will defend his ladylove.
Meanwhile, Raj would meet a new girl at the comic store and the dynamics of his relationship with Emily might change in the future episodes.
The official plot synopsis of Episode 14 on CBS reads: “Sheldon is thrilled when his Meemaw (played by the incomparable June Squibb) comes to visit, but his excitement quickly fades when she butts heads with Amy. Plus, Raj meets a new girl at the comic book store who makes him question his relationship with Emily.”
“The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 Episode 14 titled “The Meemaw Materialization” will be aired on 4 February at 8 pm on CBS.
