Actress Tamannaah Bhatia (also spelled as Tamanna) has said that she would be playing the role of an assistant in “Oopiri” and her role is completely different from Avantika of “Bahubali: The Beginning.”
Tamannaah Bhatia is busy promoting her next release “Oopiri,” which is scheduled to be released in theatres March 25. In an interview to the Times of India, she spoke about her role and said it was an interesting project, hence she accepted it without a second thought. She added that she did it for Nagarjuna and Karthi, who are popular stars from two different industries.
“When approached for the role, I had no second thoughts and said yes. Even before I was approached, I had heard about Vamshi (Paidipally) making a film with Karthi and Nag sir. It’s not every day that two big stars from different film industries come together. And as an audience, the idea intrigued me. I felt it was a great project to be a part of,” she told the English daily.
“Oopiri” is a remake of the French comedy-drama “The Intouchables,” which is about the relationship between a quadriplegic millionaire and his care giver. “‘Oopiri’ is a really happy story that traces the emotional journey, of two unconventional people who develop a beautiful bond. It’s not a film for the ‘class’ or ‘mass’, it’s universal and strikes the right balance,” she added.
Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen essaying a never-played-before role in “Oopiri” and she is all excited about the look of her character. “I’ve never been seen in this totally formal, corporate look before. Keerthi was a complete transition from Avantika of Bahubali. She’s a responsible person and takes her job very seriously and is completely involved,” she said.
The actress has said that she will play a crucial role that connects the heroes (played by Nagarjuna and Karthi) in “Oopiri.” “I am like a bridge of sorts between the protagonists. I have my inputs to give and I am a constant spectator to every emotion they go through,” Tamannaah added.
Tamannaah has dubbed herself for her role in “Oopiri” and she says it “looks genuine.” She has earlier worked with Karthi in Tamil movies like “Paiyaa” and “Siruthai.” Their chemistry has worked wonders for the film at the box office. She has teamed up with him for the third time. She is impressed with his desire to reinvent himself and constant improvisation in his acting.
