After the success of “Bang Bang”, director Sidharth Anand is all set to make the Hindi remake of Sylvester Stallone starrer “Rambo”. The director confirmed the news to Bombay Times, but he did not reveal much about the lead cast in the Hindi remake of “Rambo”.
When asked whether Hrithik Roshan will play the role of Stallone in the film, the director just said he has not finalised anyone for the film.
Hrithik and Sidharth collaborated for the remake of Tom Cruise starrer “Knight and Day”, titled as “Bang Bang”. With Hrithik in the lead, “Bang Bang” became a huge hit in India, but for the remake of “Rambo”, the director hinted that he might cast a new actor.
“Hrithik is always on top of my mind but I haven’t finalised anyone as yet. It can be a new actor as well,” Sidharth told Bombay Times.
Further talking about the remake rights of the film, Sidharth said that they bought it two years ago. The remake of the famous series “Rambo” would be made with an Indian touch, he added.
“With Stallone announcing his retirement from the Rambo universe, this is the perfect time to reboot the franchise in India. It will be a trilogy. We had the official rights since two years. We are taking the concept of Rambo ahead and recreating it for the Indian audience. We don’t have a true blue action hero in India. We’ve grown up on Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger but today’s generation has no one to look up to. The intention is to give them their own ‘Rambo’,” Sidharth told BT.
