After the producers of Pawan Kalyan’s “Sardaar Gabbar Singh” made advance booking available Monday, the movie has registered massive response across the globe within hours. The film is scheduled to hit the screens in Telugu and Hindi April 8.

The advance booking for “Sardaar Gabbar Singh” was made available in many theatres across South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Monday morning. Taking the Pawan-mania to a new height, the tickets sold like hot cakes and the sale was closed within hours after the opening of advance booking.

“Sardaar Gabbar Singh” has registered 100 percent booking for its opening day in most cinema halls in the two Telugu states and Karnataka. However, the film has registered an average of 35 percent advance booking for its first day in Chennai.

The Bobby aka KS Ravindra-directed movie has also registered a good response for advance bookings for Saturday and Sunday. Most of the centres in AP and Telangana have sold out an average of 90 percent of the tickets for its second day and 75 percent tickets for its third day. The remaining tickets will be sold a day before its release. The positive response may also compel the makers to increase the screen count and the number of shows.

“Sardaar Gabbar Singh,” touted as one of the biggest movies of 2016, marks the comeback of Pawan Kalyan, who had taken a breaking from acting to focus on his political career. The move has been creating ripples in the media for one or the other reason, ever since the project was announced.

The Telugu version of “Sardaar Gabbar Singh” will reportedly be released in over 1,800 screens around the world, while its Hindi version will be released in 800 cinema halls. With its screen count reaching 2600, the Pawan Kalyan and Kajal Aggarwal-starrer is set to become the second biggest release from Tollywood after “Baahubali: The Beginning.”

Pawan Kalyan’s “Attarintiki Daredi” was holding most of the top records of Tollywood until the release of “Baahubali: The Beginning” and “Srimanthudu,” which pushed his movie to the third rank in most of the record charts. Now, his latest outing “Sardaar Gabbar Singh” looks placed comfortably enough to top some of those lists.
