Divya Khosla’s directorial romantic film “Sanam Re” has opened to negative reviews from critics and audiences. Several moviegoers took to Twitter to say that the film is boring, while critics have called it a dull affair.
Valentine’s Day release “Sanam Re” features Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam, Rishi Kapoor and Urvashi Rautela in pivotal roles. The film is a love triangle between Samrat, Rautela and Gautam. Samrat and Gautam are childhood friends, but Samrat moves to Mumbai for better educational prospects and their lives turn around.
After a few years, Samrat falls in love with Rautela, but when he returns to his hometown in Himachal, he realises that he loved Gautam since childhood. However, to know whether Gautam and Samrat unite at the end you will need to watch the film.
The trailer looked promising and the music and Gautam-Samrat’s alleged link-up kept the buzz high, but unfortunately, the film disappointed critics. The cinematography, music and good-looking actors are the only positive points about “Sanam Re”.

Rohit Vats of Hindustan Times said: “To be fair with the team, it’s not a bad watch. It’s not a great watch either. The film starts off on a promising note, but soon goes off the track.”
Sreeju Sudhakaran of BollywoodLife.com said: “The film has some breathtaking locales, great cinematography, good looking lead actors and of course, Rishi Kapoor. Though these things work in the favour of the film, the film hardly moves much in the first half when it comes to the plot.”
The Quint reviewer RJ Stutee tweeted: “Interval!Yay!Popcorns here I come! The only thing good in #sanamre seems 2be d duration.Trying hard 2 not be tempted to leave ! @TheQuint. And it is finally over ! Happiest to see the end credits ! #sanamre deserves to be ignored ! My detailed review for the @TheQuint soon!”
Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in said: “Despite numerous plot twists, the two-hour duration feels as stretched as Samrat’s movie star ambitions.”
Tushar Joshi of DNA said: “Sanam Re melts into a pool of mess faster than the snow capped hills it is set in.”
Kriti Tulsian of IBNLive said: “No striking chemistry either between #Pulkit-#Urvashi or #Pulkit-#Yami yet. Yes, so far it’s a failed love triangle in action. #SanamRe… Rekha, Kejriwal and James Bond: Too much effort has been put into comic scenes, but it just fails to strike a chord. #SanamRe”
