After winning hearts internationally with TV series “Quantico,” Priyanka Chopra will soon be seen in her much awaited Bollywood film, “Jai Gangaajal”. Prakash Jha’s directorial, which was in news due to its censorship issues, has now got a clearance from the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).

The film has now got “UA” certificate with just two minor cuts, whereas it was earlier reported that the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) wanted to give the film an “A” certificate due to a few violent scenes. Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani had demanded for 11 cuts in the movie.

“There are just two cuts now but they are very minor. They asked me to just tone down little bit. He (Pahlaj Nihalani) had asked for 11 cuts. Now, we have been allowed everything including the language. There are no objections,” Jha told the Press Trust of India.

He said that the tribunal called the movie “powerful” after watching it, unlike Nihalani. The director was fighting for his film to get “UA” certificate since Nihalani had demanded for “A” certification. Thus, Jha had to approach the revising committee and, unfortunately, Nihalani was the chairperson there as well.

“I felt so humiliated at the revising committee where he himself was the chairperson. And I had to tell him to stop shouting. His behaviour is bad and so is his thinking. The way he treats producers is humiliating,” Jha told PTI.

“The censor board is not a menace, it is all Nihalani’s personal agenda. He does not understand. His own manipulations and methods are questionable. I hope he gets the signal that these things will not be tolerated,” he further said.

The film “Jai Gangaajal” is the sequel to Ajay Devgn-starrer “Gangaajal”, and Priyanka Chopra is playing the lead role of tough-as-nails cop Abha Mathur in it. Interestingly, Jha himself is playing a pivotal role in the flick, which will be released on 4 March.
