The “Dhoom” franchise is known for its antagonists — John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan — and the latest who may join the league is Salman Khan. Sources say the he is in talks with Yash Raj Films honcho Aditya Chopra about the same.
An insider spilled the beans on the collaboration saying Salman wants a profit-sharing ratio in “D:4” just as Aamir had in “D:3.” This piece of news comes close on the heels of reports claiming that he has been roped in to play a negative role in producer Ramesh Taurani’s “Race 3.”
“Salman wants to play a cool, stylish villain. He has never played one before. His negative role in Race 3 is almost finalised, but discussions are still on with Aditya Chopra for Dhoom:4. The issue is a financial one where Salman wants a stake in D:4, just like Aamir had in Dhoom:3. Salman wants the same profit-sharing ratio that was offered to the D:3 star. Once that is finalised, he’s on,” the insider told DNA.
Meanwhile, Ramesh told Absolute India News that “Race 3” is in scripting stage, adding that the cast hasn’t been finalised yet.
What’s interesting to note is if Salman approves any of the two films, it would be his first as an anti-hero. In an illustrious 27-year-long career in films, the superstar has never essayed a character with negative shades. His peer Shah Rukh Khan has done it as many as seven times: in “Baazigar,” “Darr,” “Anjaam,” “Duplicate,” “Don,” “Don 2” and “Fan.”
In other news, Salman is busy wrapping up Ali Abbas Zafar’s “Sultan,” which opens in theatres this Eid. The 50-year-old actor will then kick-start Kabir Khan’s untitled project and possibly a Rajkumar Santoshi film.
