Director Jagadish Talasila Telugu movie “Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi” (LOL) featuring Naveen Chandra and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead roles, has bagged mixed reviews and average ratings from the critics.

Naveen Chandra and Lavanya Tripathi made their acting debut together in SS Rajamouli’s maiden production “Andala Rakshasi”. The success of that movie flooded them with several offers. Having starred in a few movies separately, the hit pair collaborated again in “Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi”. Rajamouli’s protege Jagadish Talasila has made his debut as an independent director with the film.

“Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi” is a comedy thriller written by Jagadish Talasila. Mahesh (Ajay) is a dreaded criminal and plans to the rob bank accounts of two people who are dead and do not have nominees. He traps bank employee Naveen (Naveen Chandra) and forces him to seek the help of his colleague Devi (Lavanya Tripathi) to complete his mission. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Critics say Jagadish Talasila has chosen an interesting subject — unclaimed bank accounts — and has also included good twists in the story. But he has failed to execute them in a convincing way on screen. Lavanya Tripathi and Naveen Chandra have acted well, and their performances are the highlights of the movie. Jaya Prakash Reddy’s comedy is another good aspect of the film.

We bring you some critics’ verdicts and ratings for the movie. Continue to see them in the “Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi” movie review roundup:

123 Telugu Rating: 2.25

“Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi” turns out to be a huge disappointment and brings a halt to Lavanya Tripati’s successful streak. Even though the story tries hard to interest the audience with an interesting premise, the way it is narrated with a half hearted approach makes matters worse. You can safely ignore this movie and choose something else from the other releases this weekend.

AP Herald Ratings: 0.50

Director Jagadish Talasila’s Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi could easily win an award in “testing audience patience” category. It requires a real patience to sit through this 110 minute “comedy thriller”. Watch this at your own risk.

Iqlik Movies Review

This film is a classic case of a things going wrong at ease and elan. Albeit the premise offers loads of promise and the audience expects something intriguing to unfold, things go awry with poor narration and lazy direction. Director Jagadish Talasila had some high quality dough, which he could not bake properly. And the end result is a charred bread. He plays his card well in wooing the audience with a wacky title with a classy and massy tinge. However, all that glitters is not gold.
