Kate Middleton is a very busy woman. The mother of two is already juggling between her parental duties towards Prince George and Princess Charlotte and royal duties as the Duchess of Cambridge. But in between all this, she is definitely proving to be wonderful granddaughter-in-law too. At least, that’s what one can make out from her confession featured in a documentary about Her Majesty, “Our Queen At Ninety,” which was aired on ITV on Easter Sunday.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who is gearing up for her official visit to India and Bhutan in April, along with husband Prince William, has according to Hello! revealed various interesting things in the documentary about the monarch, their equation, and what she gave her highness as Christmas present.
We know that the Duke and Duchess are doting parents to George and Charlotte, but if Middleton’s words are anything to go by, it looks like even Queen Elizabeth is quite a loving grandmother.
“She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay and that just shows her love for her family,” revealed Kate.
And it was Queen’s this art of gifting that got the Duchess worried about the present she wanted to give the Queen. “I can remember being at Sandringham for the first time at Christmas and I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present. And I was thinking, ‘Gosh! What shall I give her'”? she said.
“And I thought back to perhaps what would I give my own grandparents. I thought I’ll make her something, which could have gone horribly wrong. I decided to make some – actually it was my granny’s recipe for chutney. And I was slightly worried about it,” she confessed.
But the Queen, the Duchess said, loved it. “But I noticed the next day that it was on the table. And I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me. I’ve noticed since that she’s done that on lots of occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness really – her care in looking after everybody,” she said.
It seems like the Duchess of Cambridge may actually consider learning many more interesting home-made chutney recipes while she is on her trip to India with Prince William.
