Priyanka Chopra is back in an action avatar with the movie “Jai Gangaajal”, which will release March 4 worldwide. The film, directed by Prakash Jha, is a sequel to the 2003 film starring Ajay Devgn.
The action drama features Priyanka as Superintendent of Police Abha Mathur and Prakash, who is making his acting debut, as inspector Bhola Nath Singh aka B.N. Singh. The trailers and promos of the film have created a good hype and raised the expectations of the moviegoers and critics.

Manjusha Radhakrishnan of Gulf News gave the film two stars and said: “It’s a confusing blend of social commentary on mob justice, the rich-poor divide and power-hungry politicians.”
“Jai Gangaajal is crammed with issues such as corporate greed, debt-ridden farms, lawless cities and frustrated civilians, but there’s no particular direction to all that chaos.
Sneha May Francis of Emirates 24/7 said: “Jha is busy playing good cop-bad cop, but never genuinely warms up. He has his moments, no doubt, but there are many where you sense his discomfort, or disconnect.
Kriti Tulsani of IBNLive said: “@priyankachopra as an IPS officer Abha Mathur gives a power-pack opening! #JaiGangaajal. Just like every other action film, #JaiGangaajal too is packed with ‘paisa-vasool’ action sequences; some unrealistic, some believable.”
Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV said: “Jai Gangaajal is likely to be a letdown for those who expect it to be a worthy follow-up to Gangaajal.”
Lokesh Dharmani of Masala.com said: “Exactly how I left the cinema hall. EXASPERATED!”
Ananya Bhattacharya of India Today said: “At the end of the day, Priyanka Chopra’s Abha Mathur does offer a role model to many, but the reality too is too clear: A happy ending is but make-believe in the hinterlands of the country. Watch Jai Gangaajal for Priyanka Chopra.”
