Four medium-budget Telugu movies — “Guntur Talkies”, “Shourya”, “Kalyana Vaibhogame” and “Shiva Ganga” — are set to be released March 4, and will clash at the box office this weekend.

“Guntur Talkies” is a confusion comedy about a bunch of people who hail from different regions and are in the Guntur slums for a reason. “Chandamama Kathalu”-fame Praveen Sattaru has directed the film, which is produced by Raaj Kumar M under the RK Studios banner. Sidhu Jonnalagadda, Senior Naresh, Shraddha Das, Mahesh Manjrekar, Rashmi Gautam and fish Venkat play important roles in the film, whose music has been composed by Sri Charan Pakala.

Director Dasarath’s much-talked-about movie “Shourya” is a romantic entertainer starring Manchu Manoj and Regina Cassandra. Manoj plays a software engineer, and the film will present him in an uber-cool stylish look for the first time. Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Sayaji Shinde, Subbaraju and Nagineedu are in the supporting cast of the movie, which is produced by Siva Kumar.

“Kalyana Vaibhogame” is a romantic comedy on the different perspectives of marriage. The film is about two youngsters who are scared of marriage. Naga Shourya, Malavika Nair and Raasi play the lead roles in the movie, which has Kalyan Koduri’s music. The film is directed by BV Nandini Reddy and produced by KL Damoodar Reddy under the banner Sri Ranjith Movies.

“Shiva Ganga” is the dubbed version of Tamil horror film “Sowkarpettai”, directed by Vadivudaiyan and produced by John Max and Jones. Srikanth and Lakshmi Rai play the lead roles in the film, while Saravanan, Suman, Vadivukkarasi, Singampuli and Manobala appear in the supporting cast.

As per ads published in newspapers, “Shourya” is being released in 370 to 400 screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and 100 other screens across the world. “Guntur Talkies”, “Shiva Ganga” and “Kalyana Vaibhogame” will be released in 250, 300 and 370 screens, respectively, across the world.

The promos of “Guntur Talkies”, “Shourya”, “Kalyana Vaibhogame” and “Shiva Ganga” have managed to attract public attention. Their producers have shelled out hefty sums on their publicity. They have registered an average of 20 percent advance booking for their opening day. Which of these four movies will lead the race at the box office Friday is now a question of time.
