“Game of Thrones” season 6 is still a couple months away, but HBO recently released a teaser trailer for the upcoming episodes. The teaser gives fans updates on what is happening in Winterfell, King’s Landing and Meereen, where the Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke) is, but it is the Easter egg that sort of promises the return of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) that has got all the fans excited.
The promo begins with thunder and lightning, after which the Starks’ flag is seen flying as Ramsay’s (Iwan Rheon) voice commands in the background, “Winterfell is mine. Come and see.” This statement is not true at this point, where his father is still the lord of the North and pushing him further down the hierarchy is his unborn step-brother who is also his father’s legitimate son and has direct claim to the throne.
Ramsay could be making this claim to one person in particular or he may be making an announcement to a group of people that challenges his credibility to the throne. This particular statement, however, reminds fans of the pink letter from George RR Martin’s “A Dance with the Dragons”. In it, Jon Snow receives a “bast**d letter” signed from Ramsay, but most people assume it is written by a third party who wanted the Boltons destroyed by Jon Snow.
The letter from Ramsay Bolton to Jon Snow, addressed “bast**d” reads:
“Your false king is dead, bast**d. He and all his host were smashed in seven days of battle. I have his magic sword. Tell his red wh**e.
Your false king’s friends are dead. Their heads upon the walls of Winterfell. Come see them, bast**d. Your false king lied, and so did you. You told the world you burned the King-Beyond-the-Wall. Instead you sent him to Winterfell to steal my bride from me.
I will have my bride back. If you want Mance Rayder back, come and get him. I have him in a cage for all the north to see, proof of your lies. The cage is cold, but I have made him a warm cloak from the skins of the six whores who came with him to Winterfell.
I want my bride back. I want the false king’s queen. I want his daughter and his red witch. I want this wildling princess. I want his little prince, the wildling babe. And I want my Reek. Send them to me, bast**d, and I will not trouble you or your black crows. Keep them from me, and I will cut out your bast**d’s heart and eat it.
Ramsay Bolton, Trueborn Lord of Winterfell.”
“I will have my bride back” and “I want my Reek” are the two statements that caused most fans to believe that the letter will probably be sent out in the beginning of the next season.
The teaser also revealed that the Dothraki leader Khal Jhaqo has no intention of helping their former Khaleesi, currently known as the Mother of Dragons. He is even heard calling her the Queen of Nothing.
Meanwhile, the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) and Cersei’s (Lena Headey) fight has only begun with the Walk of Shame. In the coming season the High Sparrow will unite the poor and destitute in a rebellion against the Queen Regent.
