“Friends” was perhaps one of the most popular and well-received sitcoms of all time. First aired on NBC on 22 September, 1992, the series continued till 6 May, 2004, and lasted for ten seasons.

Since its release, Friends has developed a cult following as the fans consider it as one of the greatest shows ever made. Hence, it indeed came as a sweet surprise for all the fans when a reunion of the entire cast was announced to take place on NBC on Sunday, 21 February.

According to E Online, the reunion will be attended by Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller).

Matt LeBlanc also voiced his excitement regarding the reunion on Twitter:

The reunion is being held to honour the legendary sitcom director, James Burrows. Movie Pilot has mentioned that Matthew Perry might not be present at the reunion as he is rehearsing for an upcoming play.

Robert Greenblatt of NBC said at the 2016 TCA Winter Press Tour that he and the other producers were hoping to see all six of the original actors in the same room at the same time. However, it seems that won’t happen now.

Besides it, the reunion is surely going to bring all the nostalgia back. It will undoubtedly take the fans on a roller coaster ride of their past memories of the show.

“Friends” was created by David Cane and Marta Kauffman and was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. It was executive-produced by Kevin S Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane.
