Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor starrer “Ki and Ka” has become the fifth hit film of 2016. “Ki and Ka,” which talks about gender equality, has taken its two weeks net box office collection to Rs. 50 crore.

The film, made on a budget of Rs. 30 crore, has earned Rs. 50.11 crore from just the Indian box office, Rs. 13 crore from the satellite rights and more than Rs. 22 crore from overseas run. “Ki and Ka” is now the fifth hit film of 2016, after “Airlift,” “Neerja,” “Kapoor and Sons” and “Wazir.”

“#KiAndKa crosses ₹ 50 cr. Adds ₹ 12.54 cr in Week 2, taking the total to ₹ 50.11 cr in the domestic market… #KiAndKa [Week 2] Fri 2.23 cr, Sat 2.80 cr, Sun 3.21 cr, Mon 1.01 cr, Tue 98 lacs, Wed 1.06 cr, Thu 1.25 cr. Total: ₹ 50.11 cr. India biz,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The film was released in limited screens of around 1,600 and targeted only niche audiences, but despite that, the film stood out at the box offices in India and in the international markets. “Ki and Ka” enjoyed good two weeks run in India, but now the film faces a big competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s “Fan.”

Meanwhile, another Bollywood movie that performed well is Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt starrer “Kapoor and Sons.” The screen count and collections dropped drastically in its third week, but the film still managed to attract viewers.

“Kapoor and Sons” earned approximately Rs. 71 crore in its three weeks run. The film was expected to beat Sonam Kapoor’s “Neerja” records at the domestic box office, but it failed to do so by a small margin. “Kapoor and Sons” remains the third highest Bollywood grosser of this year.
