Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer “Baaghi” had a roaring start at the worldwide box office. After a good opening at the UAE-GCC box office, “Baaghi” recorded the third highest opening day collection in India.

From just 2,750 screens, “Baaghi” minted Rs. 11.87 crore on its first day, which is the third highest after Shah Rukh Khan’s “Fan” and Akshay Kumar’s “Airlift.” In fact, it failed to beat “Airlift” opening day record only by a small margin.

“#Baaghi is 3rd HIGHEST OPENER of 2016 *so far*: 1. #Fan ₹ 19.20 cr 2. #Airlift ₹ 12.35 cr 3. #Baaghi ₹ 11.87 cr. Hindi films. India biz,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, adding: “#Baaghi has a HEROIC start. TERRIFIC in mass circuits. Plexes picked up in evening. Fri ₹ 11.87 cr. India biz. Double digit Fri = SUPERBBB!”

“Baaghi,” directed by Sabbir Khan, is the biggest opener in Tiger’s career. His first movie “Heropanti” minted Rs. 6.63 crore on the day of its release. However, for Shraddha “Baaghi” opening is the third highest in her career, first being “Ek Villain” with Rs. 17 crore followed by “ABCD 2” with Rs. 14.30 crore.

“Baaghi” shattered a few records at the overseas box office as well. The opening day UAE-GCC box office collection of “Baaghi” is better than “2 States,” “ABCD 2” and “Heropanti,” trade analyst Adarsh tweeted.

“#Baaghi opens SPECTACULAR in UAE-GCC. Collects $ 232,000 [₹ 1.54 cr] on Thu. Bigger than #2States, #ABCD2 and 3 times that of #Heropanti,” trade analyst Adarsh tweeted.

After a fantastic start, the film is set for a good opening weekend run worldwide. Also, it is set to become a hit film with its three-day box office run, as the film needs only Rs. 22 crore to recover its production cost. The movie was made on a budget of Rs. 47 crore and out of that, “Baaghi” already minted Rs. 25 crore from the satellite and music rights deal and Rs. 13 crore from first-day box office business.

Here is a break-up of “Baaghi” economics:

“#Baaghi economics… COP: ₹ 35 cr P&A: ₹ 12 cr TOTAL: ₹ 47 cr SOLD: Satellite: ₹ 20 cr Music: ₹ 5 cr To recover ₹ 22 cr [from India + intl]” Adarsh tweeted.
