Here’s some good news for fans of Avika Gor and Manish Raisinghan. The couple, who rose to fame with their sizzling on-screen chemistry on “Sasural Simar Ka,” is all set to fly to Cannes, France.
Avika and Manish’s short film “Ankahee Baatein” has been accepted for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. “Ankahee Baatein” will be available in the video library of the event from May 16 to May 22. However, the short film will not be participating in the official competition.
“Ankahee Baatein” stars Manish Raisinghan and Barkha Bisht, while Avika is the creative director of the film. “From making movies to having them reach world level has been a joyride,” Manish told Bombay Times.
Talking about Avika, who quit “Sasural Simar Ka” recently, Manish told the daily although he misses her on the sets, he is happy as she is busy exploring other opportunities. “Of course, she was my partner in crime. But I wouldn’t want her to come back for my sake as she wants to study. She is happy learning music and dance right now. She should do what makes her happy and come back only if she wishes to; it’s totally her call,” he said.
Meanwhile, Avika and Manish, who are more popular by their character names Roli and Siddhant (RoSid), are often linked to each other because of their amazing chemistry off the screen as well. Talking about the rumours, Manish said such reports don’t bother them. “I have heard and read about it, including reports claiming we are already married. We laugh about these rumours but, beyond that, such gossip doesn’t deserve any attention. Bechari waise he bachpan se on screen 50 shaadi kar chuki hai [The poor girl has already got married 50 times on screen], please don’t make her a real life ‘Balika Vadhu’ [the show which cataqpulted Avika to fame as the original Anandi] and let her live in peace,” Manish said.
