Popular singing talent hunt “American Idol” is getting ready to bid farewell. The show, currently in its 15th and final season, will be airing its two-part finale starting April 6, 2016.

A season finale is always a special episode for TV shows like “American Idol.” But since the singing reality show is bidding farewell on April 7, its producers have planned quite an elaborate ending. The episodes will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

The April 6 episode of the show will see performances by the top three participants, Dalton Rapattoni, Trent Harmon and La’Porsha Renae, perform live and battle for the top spot for one last time. The winner among the three participants will be declared on the April 7 episode, after which the farewell celebrations will start in full swing.

Till now we know that Brian Dunkleman will come back to co-host the show along with Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. Even Simon Cowell might return.

Another special attraction will be pop star and actress Jennifer Lopez singing her latest single, “Ain’t Your Mama,” for the first time during the episode.

Previous seasons’ winners and contestants Kelly Clarkson, William Hung, Carrie Underwood, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks and Scotty McCreery will also perform at the finale. However, the performance of Kelly Clarkson will be a taped one as she is expecting a baby soon.

The finale will also be attended by Chris Daughtry, Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson, Nick Fradiani, Ace Young, Allison Iraheta, Amber Holcomb, Blake Lewis, Bo Bice, Brandon Rogers, Bucky Covington, Carly Smithson, Casey James, Clark Beckham, Clay Aiken, Colton Dixon, Constantine Maroulis and other alumni.

You can watch the finale live April 6 and April 7 at 8 p.m. on Fox, after which it will be available on americanidol.com.
