Last month, we saw music releases in a variety of genres by artists such as Zayn Malik, Iggy Pop, Three Doors Down and Killswitch Engage. However, this month’s list of new album releases seems like a rock revival of sorts with a hint of ambient electronica.

With well known bands, such as Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai, Cheap Trick, Weezer and The Last Shadow Puppets, already having released their much awaited records last week, let’s take a look at what to expect from the rest of the month.

“Gore” by Deftones

American alternative metal band Deftones are gearing up to release their eighth studio album “Gore,” a record which comes three years after the death of their original bassist, Chi Cheng. The band started writing new material for the album in 2014 and had originally scheduled it for a September 2015 release before postponing it.

Release date: April 8, 2016

Genre: Experimental rock/Alternative metal
